A protocol for communication among devices used for home automation that uses a radio frequency (RF) for signaling and control. Z-Wave is a wireless technology protocol that uses RF for signaling and control and makes regular household products, like lights, door locks and thermostats "smart". Z-Wave enabled-devices communicate to each other wirelessly and securely. Controlling and accessing the Z-Wave devices are controlled remotely via a Z-Wave Gateway.
