Daylight Savings Time is over. Your days feel shorter. Your commute to and from work is pitch black. Getting out of bed each morning still feels like a struggle, but now even coming home is draining. When you pull into your driveway around 6:00 p.m., you aren’t relieved or struck with a sudden burst of energy. There are no kids playing outside, no pretty sunsets to admire, and no bright house ready to welcome you. Six o’clock feels more like midnight than early evening. Although the time you get home hasn’t changed, your level of motivation certainly has.
But the darkness must not win. Your daily routine cannot be put on hold due to this inevitable nightfall. There are still meetings to attend, kids to pick up, dinners to make, and bills to pay. Don’t let the lack of sunlight interfere with your evening plans. There are other ways of making your house welcoming for your arrival. Today, we’re going to use Staples Connect to ensure you never come home to a gloomy, empty house again.
With the newly integrated LG ZigBee light bulbs, the time you come home doesn’t have to feel three hours later than it actually is. The LG light bulbs emit a traditional yellowish light, which creates a warm and welcoming environment in any room. With Staples Connect and LG light bulbs, you can arrive home to a well-lit, cozy, and inviting house.
Today, we’re going to create an Activity with the LG ZigBee light bulbs that will set the perfect scene as you arrive home from work.
To create this Activity:
- Tap Activities.
- Tap New Activity, then enter a name for your Activity.
- Choose the time period you want this Activity to run by selecting “At a specific time.”
- Next, choose the days and times you want this Activity to run. We suggest choosing dates and times that correlate with your work schedule. Let’s say we get home from work around 6:00 p.m. every weeknight, so we’ll set this Activity to run Monday through Friday at 5:45 p.m.
- Choose the devices you want the Activity to control, which are your LG light bulbs.
- Now, choose how bright you want your lights to be when they turn on.
- If you want to be notified when your Activity runs, type a message and choose the User you want to receive the message. We don’t need one for our Activity, so tap Skip.
- Review your Activity, then tap Finish.
Now your home will no longer be a gloomy maze when you pull in the driveway after work. Instead of struggling to find the light switch, rely on your LG connected light bulbs and Staples Connect system to automatically set the perfect scene as you come home every evening.
