The Vizia-RF 4-Scene Controller with IR Remote Capability is part of
Leviton’s Vizia-RF Wireless Home Control System. The system
combines the popular Vizia™ family of lighting devices with the
award-winning Z-Wave® RF-based home control technology to
deliver the first line of truly dependable, scalable and practical
wireless home control devices that will set the standard for
residential control system performance for decades to come.
The Vizia-RF Wireless Home Control System provides scalable, easyto-
install, retrofit ready, remote control of appliances and lighting as
well as one-button scene lighting control that lets you instantly
create the perfect ambiance for any occasion. And, best of all, Vizia-
RF does all of this without any of the interference and less-thanconsistent
performance of previous home control systems.
Vizia-RF 4-Scene Controller
with IR-Remote Capability
APPLICATION
The Vizia-RF 4-Scene Controller with IR Remote Capability is
ideal for remote control of up to four different scenes with Vizia-
RF scene-capable devices.* The Controller fits in a standard
wallbox and utilizes existing 120VAC 60Hz wiring (when a neutral
wire is present) for easy ”no-new-wires” installation. The Controller
uses Z-Wave RF protocol transmissions to control other Leviton
Vizia-RF devices as well as Z-Wave certified devices from other
manufacturers. These devices include, but are not necessarily
limited to, in-wall dimmers and switches, and plug-in dimmer
and appliance modules. The top four buttons on the Controller
provide ON/OFF switching of four scenes. The bottom button

interact with a Vizia-RF 4-Scene Controller to turn
ON/OFF/DIM/BRIGHT the four programmed “scenes”
transmits DIM/BRIGHT commands to the most recently
switched-ON scene. Optional IR Handheld Remote
Controller (Cat. No. RZMR1) can be used to activate the
Vizia-RF 4-Scene Controller’s ON/OFF/DIM/BRIGHT
commands.
* An activated scene adjusts various dimmers and switches to preset,
customized intensities.

INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
A Z-Wave enabled device must be within 75 feet of another
Z-Wave enabled device to participate in a Z-Wave wireless
mesh network. Each Controller scene button can only be
associated with a maximum of 32 Z-Wave nodes (devices)
in a scene.
Special considerations should be made for multi-gang Vizia-
RF Infrared enabled devices
